Distinguished Restaurants of North America Partners to End Hunger
New Orleans, La. – October 21, 2008 – Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRōNA) is pleased to announce Ralph Brennan, Carlton Curtis and Rick Powers as the 2008 Hall of Fame inductees.
Louisville, KY - DiRōNA is pleased to announce a new partnership with Share Our Strength's Great American Dine Out™ presented by American Express - a national campaign to help end childhood hunger in America. From September 21 to 28, 2008, the restaurant industry will rally around this critically important cause.
Did you know that in the United States, more than 12 million children are at risk of hunger? That's one in six kids. The statistics are staggering, especially in the world's richest country. Your participation in the Dine Out can help. If we all roll up our sleeves and join in, we can make a big difference.
With each $500 donation from a DiRōNA member, Share Our Strength can provide lunch to 480 pre-school children. Share Our Strength funds food assistance programs across the country, based on state-by-state needs.
Dine Out offers an opportunity to join a worthy cause while aligning your restaurant with a national organization and its corporate supporters like American Express, SYSCO Corporation, San Pellegrino, Acqua Panna, Food Network, National Restaurant Association, Nation's Restaurant News, eTools Brand Asset Management, and Open Table.
