The Pump House in Fairbanks, AK has been recognized as a DiRōNA Awarded restaurant since 1997!
The Pump House features fine dining in a historic atmosphere overlooking the Chena River. The restaurant offers Victorian-era dining with a view. All the furnishings are authentic and very old. Most are genuine antiques and a few are over 150 years old. One of the pool tables is an original Brunswick “Union League” built in 1898 and shipped to Dawson City “The Klondike” in 1900. The table worked its way down the Yukon River following the “Rush”, stopping at Eagle, Circle and finally resting in Rampart in Ira Wisner·s Trading Post. The solid mahogany bar was built in Kansas City, then shipped and reassembled on-site by Mr. Lee Dunn.
Alaskan Hospitality
The atmosphere is easy and relaxed. Come as you are and sit on the deck overlooking the historic Chena River and watch the Riverboat Discovery pass and the float planes land. During the summer relax on The Pump House deck overlooking the Chena River and wave to passengers on the Riverboat Discovery. If your timing is right, you may even see a float plane land on the river! or you may choose one of our dining rooms inside when warmth is what you seek. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere with gaming opportunities, the Senator Saloon may be your best choice.
Our Food
Our food service is “Alaskan Style”, which means the combination of the freshest products possible with our unique culinary heritage. At times you will find the herbs which are grown on-site or “Local Grown” under a statewide sustainability program. And don’t forget The Senators Saloon features “The World’s Most Northern Oyster Bar” where you can sample succulent oysters flown in fresh on Alaska Airlines. To wash it all down, chose from the Pacific Northwest and Alaskan brewed microbrews; most recently Fairbanks own Hoodoo and Silver Gulch breweries.
