DiRōNA and the NRAEF Partnership

In 1989, DiRōNA established an endowment fund in partnership with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) to encourage students to pursue their dreams within the foodservice industry. From that endowment, the DiRōNA Scholarship Program was born — created to inspire and support students as they follow their passion for the culinary arts and hospitality.

Through the NRAEF, DiRōNA scholarships contribute to a larger mission that has awarded more than $26 million in scholarships and grants to over 5,500 students since 1987. The NRAEF’s commitment to fostering talent and ensuring access to education for aspiring foodservice professionals aligns seamlessly with DiRōNA’s vision: preserving and enhancing exceptional dining experiences for generations to come.

This year, we are proud to introduce the 2025 DiRōNA Scholarship recipients — six extraordinary students whose passion and perseverance embody the very essence of what makes dining exceptional. Meet the 2025 DiRōNA Scholarship Recipients

Kyle Calef

Freshman at the Culinary Institute of America, studying Culinary Arts. Inspired by his family and the farm-to-table movement, he hopes to become an Executive Chef.

Malik Pintado-Vertner

Sophomore at the Culinary Institute of America, studying Food and Beverage Management. Inspired by Michelin chefs, he envisions owning a three-star restaurant that redefines culinary innovation.

Every diner who has paused over a beautifully plated dish, lingered over a memorable dessert, or felt the care behind a thoughtful pairing has, in some way, experienced the influence of chefs who once stood where these scholarship recipients stand today.
