The wine on the table was grown a few hundred yards from it. Twenty-two acres of vines run across Bohemia Manor Farm, made into wine in a production facility on the property, then poured in a room that looks out over those same rows and the Bohemia River past them. Not many kitchens can point out the window at their own vineyard. This one can.
The ground has history. Augustine Herman was granted these acres in 1662, payment for drawing the map that set the outline of Maryland. A Georgian brick manor house went up in 1920 and was restored to its original state in 2005. The vines are newer, planted in 2014. Vivamee took over the farm in 2024, added a restaurant, and Harvest & Tide opened that autumn.
Running the kitchen is Ron Milburn: thirty-five years in, four stars from The Baltimore Sun, Best Chef of Harford County nine years straight. He cooks close to the water and close to the season, heavy on Chesapeake seafood. On his days out of the kitchen, he is usually back on that same water.
The estate keeps you past dinner. A tasting room overlooks the river. You can sit at the dock bar down by the water, or stay the night in the restored manor house. Sundays, the kitchen lays out an à la carte brunch with Bloody Marys and mimosas.
